P. 52
1. Adjust the sprinkler system air maintenance device (AMD) to 18 psig (1.24 bar)
NOTE: If a NG-1 100 or NG-1 250 is used on a single sprinkler system without an air maintenance device (AMD), set the nitrogen generator cut-out (turn-off) pressure to 18 psig (1.24 bar).
2. Set the nitrogen generator cut-in (turn-on) pressure to 15 psig (1.03 bar).
3. In the pressure transducer in the nitrogen generator cabinet, in the EF Menu (Extended Function
Menu) section, activate the “OSET” function by changing the function from “No” to “Yes”.
Check the operation and interaction between the nitrogen generator and the sprinkler system air maintenance device (AMD).
NOTE: ALL pressures are measured from the Sprinkler System Air Gauge, unless otherwise indicated.
1. Reduce sprinkler system pressure 2 psi (0.14 bar) to approximately 16 psig (1.10 bar).
2. Manually turn on nitrogen generator and allow sprinkler system to refill and generator shut off
a. If sprinkler system pressure has returned to 18 psig (1.24 bar), check nitrogen generator cut-in (turn-on) function.
b. If sprinkler system pressure is not returned to 18 psig (1.24 bar), use the Air Maintenance Device (AMD) Pressure Adjustment Procedure in the Maintenance Section of this manual.
3. Reduce sprinkler system pressure to 15 psig (1.03 bar).
a. If nitrogen generator automatically turns on, the nitrogen generator and sprinkler system
air gauge are in alignment.
b. If nitrogen generator does not automatically turn on, the nitrogen generator and sprinkler
system air gauge are NOT in alignment
i. Verify pressure indicated on nitrogen generator pressure transducer
Example: Nitrogen generator pressure transducer indicates 16 psig (1.10 bar) and the sprinkler system air gauge indicates 15 psig (1.03 bar) – 1 psig (0.07 bar) difference between nitrogen generator pressure transducer and sprinkler system air gauge.
ii. Change the nitrogen generator cut-in (turn-on) pressure to align with pressure indicated on nitrogen generator pressure transducer.
Example: Change cut-in (RP) pressure form 15 psig (1.03 bar) to 16 psig (1.10 bar).
iii. The nitrogen generator and sprinkler system air gauge are in alignment.
4. Allow nitrogen generator to fill the sprinkler system to 18 psig (1.24 bar) and the nitrogen
generator to shutoff.
5. Repeat process to confirm nitrogen generator is automatically turning on and turning off as well
the sprinkler system air gauge is operating between 15 psig (1.03 bar) and 18 psig (1.24 bar).
